Douglas Gray is a Yorkshire born artist specialising in contemporary figurative and landscape oil paintings.
After forging a highly successful path working for an impressive array of international clients including Pepsi and Universal Studios in the USA, and a diverse range of companies in Australia and the far east, Douglas began to concentrate his efforts into two areas; book jacket design for several major UK publishers, and portraiture. The latter provided his entry into the world of fine art, and his portraits made a strong impression on a number of celebrity collectors.
His original paintings are in private collections across Europe and the USA and he is represented in the UK by galleries in London and York, exhibiting both in solo and in joint exhibitions.

The main objective in my paintings is to capture mood and atmosphere, allowing the viewer to immerse themselves within the work and to interpret the scene using their own imagination.
Travel is a creative key for me - opening the door and finding inspiration in anything, from a contemplative beach stroll to a romantic encounter.
